RHoK Tel Aviv Wraps Up

Published by Elizabeth Sabet

RHoK Tel Aviv was the first RHoK Global event to begin, starting Friday morning at the Interdisciplinary Centre in Hertzliya and ending Saturday evening.  Dedicated teams of hackers worked on 3 diverse projects.

  1. Appcessible is a Chrome extension for people with low vision that will filter website content so desired content will come first, and makes it possible to change the website user interface to fit the needs of the disabled user.  Appcessible integrates text-to-speech technology.
  2. Addictaid is a Chrome extension for people who want to reduce the amount of time they spend browsing Facebook and do good at the same time.  It monitors your Facebook usage and donates a small amount of your money to a charity every time you breach your pre-set Facebook usage-allowance.
  3. Know Ahead is a web and Android app that allows people to create a database of accessible locations around a city, to provide up-to-date accessibility information for the disabled.

RHoK Tel Aviv was organized and sponsored by Google.
