Breakthrough Austin is a college preparation program for low-income students who will  be the first in their families to graduate from college. Sixth-grade students are selected for participation based on their grades, state assessment performance, regular school attendance, and teacher recommendations. Breakthrough provides students the extensive personal and academic supports they need to strive for academic excellence, to graduate from high school, and to apply for and enroll in college.  The program model comprises a suite of research-based services that promote student success including early intervention, case management, and academic supports outside of school. The organization use CRM software to track the progress of student by entering periodic data (every six weeks) such as academic performance, and attendence.  The structure of the current implementation does not allow the organization to view and analyze the data over time.  When the informaiton is updated in the CRM, the old data is erased.  To persist the historic data, the organization exports the old values to a CSV file format before updating the CRM system with the most current values.

The organization needs an application that can store the periodic CSV files and provide a visual method to analyze various measures of progress; at the student level, at the case worker level and at the program level.

Qualitative Impact:
Students can receive the right positive intervention at the right time that will eventually result in higher high school graduation and college attendance.
Quantitative Impact:
350 - 400 students will be affected.
