POP UP Burlington
Increase the Vitality and Economy of Burlington by connecting
Building Owners who have an under-utilized space
with Creative Citizens who have an idea.

Pop Up Art Imagine walking past the Armory and seeing new art every week.Displays in empty windows, interactive sites to draw people into new spaces.
Pop Up Shops Imagine walking down Church St and seeing every store front filled with a  retail store.Available at holiday and peak shopping times. Fill empty store fronts.
Pop Up Events Imagine being invited to a one-time-only concert at your favorite restaurant, after it's closed. Building connections in the community.
Pop Up Hacks Technology groups volunteering time for non-profits and community functions.
Pop Up Makes Community coming together to learn and volunteer for projects.
Pop Up Dinners Start-Up Entrepreneurs get to show off their cooking skills and flex their business muscles with one-time dinners.
Pop Up Swaps Events like the Clothes Exchange done year round.

More Business in Burlington: Pop Up engages Burlington citizens, introducing them to new spaces and businesses. Events, Hacks, and Makes will draw non-locals in to eat and shop in Burlington. Landlords and Business Owners can generate extra resources to support their business by directing activity to downtimes and slow business cycles.

We propose to build a website with a user-friendly crowdsourced database to match landlords with empty space with projects and groups who need space.
We will create a suggested etiquette for this new type of relationship and promote best practices.
