The idea is to develop a user friendly text to speech technology that would allow orally challenged (disabled) individuals to hold an open phone conversation with another person and have the ability to supplement their side of the conversation by texting via a separate keyboard (connected to their phone/cell phone)... the text would be heard through the phone as a voice. The intent is that the text to voice is internalized within the phone or app so that there is no interference, echoing, fading in and out, etc. There is nothing like this on the market...
The current options, available to disabled people who can't clearly verbalize over the phone, are terrible to use and very limiting and frustrating for all phone conversation participants.
Ultimately, I would like to see this developed, made available, and improved upon. Some of the improvements could be to give a choice of voices with accents and inflections, male and female... Possibly the ability for the text to be simultaneously sent to the recipients phone during a phone conversation (while it is heard so that if the text to voice is not verbalized correctly, the recipient can take a look at their cellphone screen and see the text to clarify what is being communicated).
I really hope that you can see the value in my idea and know that it would be a great benefit for MANY people. (This technology can change lives!)
Thank you for your attention to this project idea and feel free to contact me if you have the need to further discuss!
