This project provides the infrastructure to take a picture using an Android device (we've heard that they can cost as low as 100$ in developing countries which would need this sort of app) run the picture through some image processing or pattern recognition in OpenCV and then upload the image using POST.

We are targeting it specifically for the Bacteria Counting app for low-cost water monitoring kit project.

We already have the code for:

Coordinate is a simple mobile app and database that allows emergency response officials to plot hazards in an accurate and structured manner.  It allows an EOC and other response agencies to receive validated reports from responders out in the disaster area.  Information can be updated out in the disaster area allowing for a better common operating picture of what hazards still need to be resolved.

CharityClick provides low cost advertising for charities through innovative web technologies.

CharityClick capitalises on the moment that a person is emotionally moved when reading an article or watching a video about issues that can benefit from a donation. It does this by vastly reducing the number of steps between desire to help and making a financial contribution.

How it works:

Public Learning Media, a non-profit organization in the Boston area, has created three open-licence Learning Tools for young students to become more data literate and improve numeracy -- and while the Learning Tools involve data visualization and graphic calculators, the instructions are presented alongside to get started or when they ask for help.

The web-accessible Learning tools have been widely taken up in English speaking countries (USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the UK) and there is increasing demand in non-English speaking countries.

dewpointcalc is an application geared towards implementing Humidity Slide Functionality with Software. An SMS request is made by a user with wet bulb temperature, dry bulb temperature and height. The server does the calculations from input variables and returns Dew Point, Relative Humidity and Water vapor pressure.

Understanding trends in beepopulations is critical to decifering environmental and ecological changes effecting the health of the planet.

We know the insect Pollinator population is in decline so empowering the new Urban Beekeeper with a tool that educates them, creates standardization and tracks information so patterns and trends can become more apparnet. Hopefully resulting in a rebound of the population or at least an increase in the genetic strains of bees
